Summary
The Landscape Designer is responsible for providing outstanding landscape design and sales services to a broad scale of high-end residential clients. The talented individual will work efficiently both independently and within a team environment to accomplish departmental goals and achieve client-oriented results. Time will be split between client meetings, studio and site visits.

Duties/Responsibilities

. Generates new leads and initial client contact
. Collaborates closely with Associate Designer (teammate) to manage design-build projects from concept through construction
. Client liaison
. Conceptual design and design development; use of drafting software
. Execution of proposals and contracts; project administration
. Client invoicing
. Firm understanding of landscape plant materials for Midwest region and construction products, procedures and techniques
. Has ability to perform site assessment tasks
. Contributes to building a positive team atmosphere
. Availability to work flexible hours to accommodate seasonality of the industry
. Additional duties and responsibilities assigned as needed

Education and Experience

2 or 4-year degree in Landscape Design/Architecture or related field; 3-5+ years experience in high- end residential design and construction preferred; Proficiency with DynaScape or AutoCad, Microsoft Office, Outlook; Ability to learn proprietary software
Certifications a plus; Compensation commensurate with experience

Summary
The Associate Landscape Designer supports Landscape Designer(s) with all aspects of the design-build process to ensure a high-quality, timely experience for clients. The individual will work efficiently both independently and within a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and achieve client-oriented results. Time will be split between studio/office and site visits.

Duties/Responsibilities
. Reviews and interprets project scope with Designer after consultation
. Measurements, photographs and site analysis to prepare base map; determination of spot elevations as needed for grading projects
. Prepares electronic plans; elevation drawings on request
. Prepares detailed estimates
. Maintains organized electronic and hard customer files
. Prepares construction documents for installation packet
. Assists with on-site project layout; must have confidence placing plants and making decisions based on independent judgment and discretion on a daily basis
. Displays superior level of talent and confidence to design and contribute design solutions
. Demonstrates knowledge and applied use of plant material for the Midwest region
. Understands landscape construction products, procedures and techniques
. Contributes to building a positive team atmosphere
. Availability to work flexible hours to accommodate the seasonality of the industry
. Additional duties and responsibilities assigned as needed

Education and Experience
Degree in landscape architecture, landscape design or related field; Minimum 1–3 years related experience with professional design-build company
Competencies
Strong attention to detail; Excellent organizational, time management and record keeping skills; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Exceptional interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Demonstrated flexibility with changing priorities and willingness to contribute as a team player; Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in extreme weather conditions
Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Office); Proficient with drafting software (DynaSCAPE or CAD); Experience with SketchUp a plus; Ability to learn proprietary software (Definity)
Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle
